I consider the stay at the hotel to be the most successful. The location of this place is perfect to stay in the middle of exploring the peninsula. Hotel service very nice, especially I must mention Patrick who warmly welcomed us. I really recommend this place. :)

Located in Borgarnes, 43 km from Thingvellir National Park, Basalt Hotel provides accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. The Basalt Hotel staff crew has been exceptional in communication. We had a last minute flight cancellation which would result in a 3am hotel check-in. The Basalt crew handled our situation really well. Our room was exceptionally huge for its size. We loved the view of our room and we even had daily housekeeping. The outdoor hot tub was something we enjoyed using, especially after a long day out. Hotel breakfast was ok, good to have.

The accomodations and establishment are very nice. The whole feeling of this place is very unique. It's not just a place where the views are amazing, but also a farm where you can see horses and also 2 very nice dogs. You have a hot sprint outside and inside. We've been in Iceland 3 times and here we ate the best food from all the places. This guesthouse is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. I will not be surprised if in the future people will visit the west fjords only to stay here. I can't recommend it enough. Thank you so much for having us. Wished we stayed longer!
