Maribel is the best host we have ever had in our travels and we will make an effort to go back to her wonderful home and this gorgeous mountainous area which we enjoyed so much. Rascafria also exceeded our expectations - beautiful walking paths, small but vibrant village, and many other pluses. We loved our time there and fell in love with Rocky :). Thank you Maribel - you are a very special human being.

Situated in Torremocha de Jarama, Hotel Rural Luna Llena has a shared lounge. The hotel features city views, a terrace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. Beautiful little hotel in small village. Very clean. In extreme heat wave in the area, air conditioning was working nicely. Communication with Ana was quick and easy with Booking chat (my Spanish is very limited, shame on me).

Located 1 hour’ drive from Madrid, Hotel La Beltraneja boasts unique suites with original stone walls and exposed wooden beams of Buitrago del Lozoya Castle. Pretty, atmospheric and tidy place in the heart of old town. The staff was nice and welcoming.

Set in Patones, El Mirador de Las Jaras features a garden, terrace and free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can enjoy city views.

Situated in Lozoya, 21 km from Monasterio de Santa Maria de El Paular, CicloLodge features accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. Everything was lovely, just that the rooms have the fragrance spray that sprays every few minutes and we had to stop them all. One of the rooms in our ' apartment ' was supposed to be closed, but they have left it open and when we entered it smelled of humidity and a bit like an old mouldy building. Maybe just because it was closed for awhile. But it would explain the fragrance sprays everywhere. Other then that it was all good.

Set in Rascafría, 45 km from Peñalara Nature Reserve, Casa Granero features views of the river. The rooms come with a patio with mountain views and free WiFi. The hosts and all the help they gave me. The room and the quiet. The starlings on the roof outside the window

Situated in Torrelaguna, Posada Del Camino Real has a terrace, restaurant, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property. Cozy room and amazing private spa, really worth the price.

Located 45 km from Peñalara Nature Reserve, El Barondillo offers 3-star accommodation in Rascafría and features a terrace, a restaurant and a bar. great location, clean, good service

Hotel La Posada De Alameda offers accommodation in Alameda del Valle. The hotel has a terrace and views of the mountains. The rooms have a TV. Location, cleanliness, kindness of staff.

Set in Rascafría, 45 km from Peñalara Nature Reserve, Hotel Rural Marcos offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. It was a refreshing visit in the midst of the heat wave. Rural Marcos is close to the natural swimming area and the village centre. By car, one can also easily get anywhere around, like an open-air prehistoric settlement archeological grounds. The hosts are just amazing, very helpful, kind and caring. We felt like home at Rural Marcos.
