Buses to some places are frequent and reliable.
Buses to some places are frequent and reliable. Perhaps because it was April before the big season, there was only one bus to the new port at 2.30 pm when the boat to Paleo Kameni left at 10.00 am! The information desk is not always aware of which buses are leaving so it's wise to ask some of the drivers. We almost missed our bus to the airport because of this.

It goes to other towns and is a hub. Any towns north or south goes back to Fira.
You need to pay in the bus to a bus conductor NOT at information booth. Make sure you ask what bus number is your bus as you can easily miss it! Wait near that bus until it opens and a conductor / bus driver starts opening the bus and then you can enter. It leaves every half our during day time.
It cost from €1.60 - €2 one way, depending where you are going. They only take cash!

Small station for that amount of large buses pulling in, seemed abit chaotic, lots of fumes in your face. Sit back under the shade and let only one person navigate which bus to take, bus drivers normally shout out where they are going.

Absolute chaos.
Absolute chaos. Watch your wallet and stay the course - you will end up getting a bus! Always try and catch a bus at the main terminals - you will have no luck getting on the bus on in-between stops as busses are way too full in summer

It can be expensive getting around Santorini but all the main places are coveted by the local buses for 1.60-2.20
Some can be full, so arrive early to get a seat, especially the bus from Oia back to Fira.

There are not many stops at all (maybe one) between Fira and Oia so take the bus. It is 1.6 euros and a taxi which doesn't get you between the two cities can cost 10-15 euros. No point.
Renting a vehicle is about 35-50 euros per day and is another option if you want to stop and explore or take scenic pictures.
There is also a nice walking path.
You have options but the bus option is good.

Amazing location and great staff; both Costa & Stan were very helpful in ensuring a smooth check-in experience and advising on the amazing destination spots in Santorini. Room location was good as it was less than 10 minutes walk to the central bus station. Would recommend this place anyone as it was just right for me.
Very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast and the room had pool access, everything was clean and well taken care of, Fira's center is just around the corner and so are a big supermarket and the central bus station
The host was very friendly and went through with us all facilities in the hotel room. The location was great, close to Fira central bus station. Nice view from the terrase.
The staff were so kind and helpful! I had a problem with my travel plans and they were so accommodating. The facilities were also very clean and nice. Another bonus - the central bus station is simply a 5 minute walk, so you're easily able to take advantage of this service and explore the island. Overall, a very comfortable stay where I made some new friends! I would definitely recommend staying at this hostel.
It was a nice and clean apartment with all basic facilities. We reached at 23:00, but the owner was very welcoming and helpful, and provided the complete information on the tourist locations of the island. A wine bottle and cake was given as complementary. The apartment location is good and walkable to Central bus station. The owner was keep sending us the messages and asking for any help needed during our stay. Value for money.
Location was a short 5 - 7 minutes walk from the central bus station and the caldera. It is much quieter at night away from the music and people if you want a more relaxing stay. The room was really spacious, clean and recently renovated. The owner, Mr Yannis, is a welcoming and wonderful host providing us with an abundance of information as to the where to go, where to eat, best places to see the sunset even down to giving us the bus timetable. Really goes the extra mile to ensure your stay is as relaxing as possible. A most wonderful stay!
Super location about 2 min walking from Fira central bus station. Good choice if don't have much time for visiting island. Kettle in the room and comfortable bed. Very clean room and nice staff.
The room is very clean, good location, 5 mins walking distance to the central bus station, close to the shops, restaurant... very convenience. Staffs are friendly, the owner gave us a bottle of very nice wine.

The main bus station in the centre runs very regular buses to Oia (every 30 mins) up until 22:30 approximately. There are also regular buses to places such as Perissa. It is great value, only 1.60 Euros single to Oia. Beware, coming home from seeing the sunset in Oia though, the buses get very busy so choose your return wisely!
