We spent only 1 night in the hotel. The double and the single beds were comfortable with a clean toilete. The hotel has a big parking area but if you cant find any you can still park on the street for free. There is a path 10 minutes from the hotel into the mountain. The full english breakfast was delicious definitely worth it. I can highly recommend the hotel if you would like to spend a few days in the lakes.
In the Lake District National Park, Inn on the Square has a central location by Keswick’s market square. This family-run property offers Scandinavian-style design combined with Cumbrian elements.

Very dog friendly. We fell in love with it, and didn't want to return home. We will definitely be going again.

There are wonderful hikes of all different lengths -- one hour to 8 hours -- and you get extraordinary views from all of them. And there always seems to be a nearby pub at the end of the hike! Truly great hiking and friendly people. We had a great dinner at the Fellpack restaurant too.

Very nice town many interesting shops pubs and cafes with a very good museum stop the weekly market small bit interesting. It was a very short walk down to the waterfront which has a good compliment of boats etc. The variety of pubs was excellent and it was much appreciated that the town had a wetherspoon. As a transport hub it was easy for myself which did not have a car to visit many areas. It is also close to both high heels for walking and for much lower level walks what's up this would suit all tastes.

The Lake District is a beautiful part of England and Keswick is a lovely place within it. It's big enough to have a small town feel bit small enoght to have a village feel. Coupled with this is its direct position on the lake with its beautiful views of hills/mountains (I can never tell the difference!) in balance with the lake on its islands. Altogether its a wonderfully peaceful place to chill alone or socialise with lovely people as you choose.

As a person who enjoys driving, the roads to the Lake District are some of the most spectacular…as long as the weather is nice to take in the views.
The main road of the A591 takes you from Keswick to Windermere. What a drivers road and the views!
Even at the busiest time we have been, we have managed to park up. Be warned though, as must places these days, cash payment are not accepted, so be prepared to download or use your phone to make payment.
Otherwise the area is very well kept and hats off to the locals and those that visit for keeping this gem, super clean.
This isn’t a place where you will see cheap tacky shops which is a blessing. You will of course pay a premium for some other stuff.
Keswick has its own lake and boat trips which are great to use on a warm day and to rest those weary limbs.
There is a large amount varying restaurants , Steaks, Indians, Thai etc, so you are spoilt for choice. Locally made beers are also on tap.
We had a lovely stay here. The place is in a great location if you don’t have a car as it’s only a 15 minute walk into the town centre and the bus stop is a 2 min walk away. The room we had was lovely and clean. The owner was very nice and have prioritised the safety of guests by having self check in and only a certain number of guests at a time in for breakfast (you have to pick a time the night before). The breakfast was delicious. I can’t fault a thing about this place and can’t wait to stay again!
I liked everything about the hotel. The location was convenient for the north lakes. The room was quite big, well equipped and comfortably accomodated our family of three. We used the swimming pool extensively and it was clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. And the food was really good. All of this at a reasonable cost particularly when compared to some of the other city centre hotels in the surrounding areas.
Any organisation is only as good as it's staff and the service they provide ! The staff at this Hotel particularly at Reception ( huge thanks to the man originally from New Zealand ! ) and the Dining Room were simply outstanding in the way they looked after us . They were charming , obliging and attentive . They make the Hotel as does the fact it is ideally located for Keswick town centre and next door to two outstanding well maintained parks !
The hotel and grounds were far more picturesque than we anticipated and it is perfectly situated in Keswick with an easy walk into town and to the start of most walks and Derwentwater. Our room was lovely and although not modern and up to date perfectly reflected the building and its surroundings and everything worked and was clean.
The restaurant for breakfast was great and there was more than enough options with a lovely view across the lawn.
It's very cosy and has plenty of free parking. The cottage is about a 10-minute walk from Keswick Town centre. All on one level, so there are no stairs to negotiate, making it ideal for those with mobility problems. There is a petrol station about 5 minutes walk away which has a well stocked shop if you need to get anything. There are lots of takeaways in Keswick and also lots of restaurants to eat out and avoid self-catering.
The staff were brilliant and the food was absolutely first class. As this small and friendly hotel is located a short drive away from the tourist town of Keswick, we felt they probably have to work harder for their custom - Location, Location, Location!
The standard of the hotel, the service, the breakfast, the evening meals and overall value far surpassed anything you'd get in the town centre for the price.
The Derwentwater hotel was in easy walking distance of Keswick Town centre via a public footpath .
Breakfast was very nice with everything you could possibly want.
The bar offers a wide selection of beers wines and the all important gin. Food was tasty cooked from fresh .
The Derwentwater Hotel is use to serving large groups, our numbers were 20 which didn’t pose any problems.
Breakfast always delicious. Paul was very friendly and helpful in recommending us good restaurants and walking routes. Despite the predictably awful weather in the lakes in November we had a fab time exploring Derwentwater.
The B&B is close to Keswick town centre, easy to find and has lovely views of the River Greta and Skiddaw.
You will be lucky if you can find a better hotel in Keswick. Spotlessly clean, great facilities and attention to even the smallest details. A wonderfully comfortable bed and a great breakfast. The owners are lovely, friendly hosts to whom nothing is too much trouble. Cannot recommend this hotel enough, you will not be disappointed.
Friendly service and room was ideal for our needs. The breakfast was lovely. There were plenty of choices at breakfast, but the sausage was the best I've ever had. The hotel was close to the town centre where there were plenty of places to eat.
Friendly welcoming host. Lovely room. Lots of storage space. Comfortable bed. Close to town centre. Good choice of food for breakfast, which was cooked and presented really well. I will definitely return here next time I visit Keswick
Bed and Breakfast. No frills, the hotel "does what it says on the tin" - Bed and Breakfast.
The Breakfast is good and the Breakfast staff - excellent.
Location of this B&B is good - close to the town centre.
Great location just a couple of minutes’ walk into Keswick town centre. Excellent views over the river and Fitz Park. Good value. Well equipped. Comfortable bed. Good quality linen and towels.
Excellent location very close to the town centre but also very quiet. Car parking was an important consideration so to have a reserved space ticked every box.
