The villa is perfectly located for hiking or skiing close to tourist attractions and at the same time on the edge of civilization with a beautiful mountain view. There is a fully equipped kitchen in the common area. The room is clean and in good condition, especially I like the mattress. The hostess is very nice and caring

My favorite was hiking around with my dog, we mostly went to Strednica. The restaurants are good (my favorite was Zdiaranka and Stone Art Gallery café to enjoy the view and have good coffee or a glass of wine), there are several shops to buy food as well. I visited the local museum. I recommend going to Tree Top Walk in Bachledova Dolina, very interesting place.

Zdiar is a beautiful town, perfect for skiing, hiking and relaxing! It has everything you need, the people are very friendly and helpful although it would be a good idea to learn some basic Slovak just to get you by. Waking up in the high tatras mountains in a sight to behold! Numerous restaurants line the main street and there is an amazing pizza restaurant that sells great drinks too, looks like a museum inside wall to wall with Slovakia history gathered by the owner it is called Pizzeria Rustika. I would highly recommend a visit.

The destination offers interesting possibilities, it is right in the High Tatras, so you can go anywhere. Especially in Ždiar, however, the great attraction is the cable car above Bachledova dolina and the Walk in the Treetops and an all-day experience. Also, the location is beautiful just for ordinary light hiking - walking around the site without the need for a long hike.

Ždiar is mostly known for skiing in winter.
Ždiar is mostly known for skiing in winter. I was there in summer so the best attraction is Walking path high in the trees (chodník korunami stromov) - very nice and romantic walk in nature.
Other than that there is nothing much, but you have other cities nearby like Tatranská Lomnica where you have plenty of good restaurants and small attractions.
Close you have Belian cave which is a popular tourist place.

Lovely village built for the ski and hiking seasons.
Lovely village built for the ski and hiking seasons. Pretty small but close to the main places worth a visit. We were at the Lomnicky stit, the Morskie Oko and Bachledka. We would loved to stay longer!!
Great location for exploring east Tatras and surroundings. Biking to Kezmarok takes no effort, as it is downhill all the time. Beware, you have to get back too! There are plenty of opportunities to eat out in Zdiar.
The large apartment on the upper floor is very spacious - hall, bathroom, 3 separate bedrooms, kitchen and living room (one bedroom is accessible via kitchen, one via the living room, one directly from the hall). Kitchen is fully equipped (sans dishwasher). Friendly staff.
It is weird hotel. But in a nice way :) Feels like traveling back in time. But just because of architecture. Our room however was clean, spacious ( bathroom spacious too) and didn't look old or cheap as it was mentioned in other comments.
Breakfast was good, food quality in general quite high. If you have only breakfast included, you can order supper too either from a la carte menu or buffet. A bit expensive but food is good.
And of course views are amazing :)
We came to visit Slovakia from Canada...and we loved our stay in Privat Bachleda, Ždiar. The accommodation was excellent, very clean and comfortable, with a superb view of the surrounding mountains. The host was very friendly, caring and helpful. I also appreciated and enjoyed the balcony with lovely flowers lavishly overflowing from the edge - so pretty and welcoming! We would love to come back anytime with no hesitations!
The best view from the terrace I ever had in hotels . Really awesome and calming resting there. The house is very cozy , the room is very spacious and cozy. The building is very beautiful from the outside. Very good bed lining. Small kitchen in the room . The small city this villa is located in, is quiet, well kept and really relaxing . There is a restaurant next to this villa. Accepting only cash there .
The hotel's attention to details is simply astonishing, every where you look you find something more. The spa is great, clean and has good options ranging from jacuzzi, steam room, saunas & even a salin room. Beds are comfortable and we had a pretty big balcony with views over the mountains. Breakfast has good options & we even had live piano which was amazing.
There are some 5 stars hotel, where you feel more like a 4 stars and there is this 4 star hotel where you feel like a 5 stars hotel. This hotel has unique design for every room, with attention to detail, nice personal and good food. Good position with beautifull view. We recommend this hotel over all Slovakia hotels.
The property is very modern, clean and comfortable. The apartment had everything we needed for a self catered stay.
We didn’t meet our host in person, but we were given very clear check-in instructions and all went seamlessly.
The village of Ždiar is very charming and there is lots to do in the surrounding area.
The accomodation is super clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Very good value for the price. The owner is very kind, she speaks a little a German (not English.), The breakfast was also correct. I highly recommend it, if you would like to have a nice starting point in order to discover High-Tatras.
The view is far away the best from this area.
We were in our way to home when we decide to spend one night in Zdiar.
The room is big and clean. Comfortable and huge bed.
We choose to have breakfast here and we do not regret it :)
Very kind stuff.
The pension is close to the town entrance and has a lovely view of the High Tatras. The place was cozy, the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was amazing (self-service). There was also a shared kitchenette with some utensils.
Everything was wonderful. The host was amazing and really created a great atmosphere. The meals were delicious and I can only recommend booking the half-board option.
Next time we are going to Zdiar, Aja is the place to book!
Location is good, also good food in the nearby Zdiarsky dom place. The owner was nice and patient with us too (our little man got sick and was crying alot the first night we stayed there)
Beautiful mountain chalet, super spacious surrounded by the pictures Belianske Tatry mountains . lots of kids activities & very nice local restaurants ( Strachan) near by …
the room is clean , the host is friendly.
we came with 2 Dogs and they also happy
in front of the hotel there's green field , our Dogs can play and run around freely
Interior design is beautiful. Mini golf and zip line right behind the hotel was so fun for the kids. Excellent breakfast, tasty food overall. Very friendly service.
