Did not travel to Keflavik, we were there at the airport for a stopover. Thought we could tour a little as we had 10 hours but the cost of the bus fare and taxi was very expensive and for a family of four we decided to stay put. The flights are cheap but everything else, if you are on a budget prepare yourself to spend a lot of money on food and transportation. Very clean place, their tap water is amazing, air is clean. Would love to go back to explore but will have to save a lot to be able to fully enjoy Iceland.MalgorzataCanada - 10Scored 10
Good location near the airport.
Good location near the airport. We moved here the day before our early morning flight. The friendly lady in reception stored our bags and called a taxi to bring us to Blue Lagoon. We learned that the hotel had a special deal with taxis so we booked the same taxi to bring us back, which gave us a bit of a discount. We took their free airport shuttle very early the next morning. Don't arrive after 2200hrs.
Don't arrive after 2200hrs. You won't get the room you've paid for. Don't rely on information from staff. They give you inaccurate advice re buses etc. The hotel is a 55km bus ride from Reykjavik - a once hourly service - or a $200 taxi ride each way. There is not even a vending machine to buy a softdrink, crisps etc. This place is an expensive bed and a shower and a 6km (aka AUD$59) taxi ride from the airport. Dont waste your money!

Ravens Bed:
Ravens Bed: After being dropped off at the airport, I realized I had left my purse in the van. I was able to call the owner and he quickly and generously drove back to the airport to give me my purse. Phew! What an angel! And he didn’t even charge me for the inconvenience of driving back! Super short ride to the airport!

We had to check out very early (4:00 AM) and we found the breakfast already available. And what a breakfast!!!! There was everything that you could imagine. They told us that it starts at 4:00AM, but around 3:30AM you can already found some coffe and croissants. It is very close to the car rental Go Iceland/ACE where we had to drop the car. Also near to the airport if you have to go directly there.

If that's also your main reason, so the Konvin Hotel is the good choice because they provide airport shuttle from hotel to airport, and also the early breakfast (for extra charge) if you need before your early flight. The room is spacious with a nice bathroom. Hotel Keflavik oozes luxury with Versace tiles and quality furniture and finishings. We were luckily enough to be upgraded to the Diamond Suite which was amazing with our own private hot tub. Comfy bed. We had supper at their restaurant glasshouse and the food was so good. Breakfast was a buffet served from 5:30am and had a big variety of fresh food. Staff were all polite and friendly.
