Wonderful Hidden Gem of a Hotel and Breakfast was OUTSTANDING
Rooms are quiet and comfortable and well maintained and upgraded.
Shower was a little tight and needs some update to make a little safer for people stepping in and out. A grab bar or better flooring would help.
But overall WELL DONE

Hvolsvöllur is a small town (village?), but you can find restaurants, petrol station, supermarket here, therefore ideal base of excursions -for instance to the Golden Circle (North West) or Vik region (South West).
Nevertheless there is a very special facility, the Lava Centre which much be visited definitely.

The owners were very friendly.
The owners were very friendly. They help us even at midnight. The apartment was big, clean, enough for 6 people. The place was near by the Golden circle, Black beach and other attractions. Definitely recomend it.

The proximity to the ferry for the Westman Islands was the reason we chose this property - it was only 10mins drive from the ferry terminal. Additionally, the property is 1km from Seljalandfoss, meaning you can visit away from the busiest times of day. The cabins were literally on the ring road, making it easy to find but no need to worry about noise. A very good place to stay the night and enjoy all the amazing attractions between Seljanlandfoss and Vik.

The Lava Center is a phenomenal place to stop.
The Lava Center is a phenomenal place to stop. The exhibits are interactive and so well done, all ages will appreciate learning more about Iceland's volcanos.
We heard that there were tours for hiking out of this area, but the weather was way too extreme for us to check that out.
Hotel operates mainly for tour buses and operators and they are the main customers. The rooms which are offered through Booking.com and such websites are worst of the worst. They allotted two rooms to us (family of four and paid for two rooms) which were less than 10 ft away from a public hot tub. No privacy at all and I called Booking.com and sent them pictures but they haven’t yet resolved my issue. Please stay away from this hotel at all cost.
We are traveling for 10 days around Iceland and this accommodation is one of the best I’ve ever had. Even though we were four, we were really comfortable there, for two it’s even more spacious. The kitchen is amazing, they provide maximum basic things for your confort like oil, salt etc. Privacy was amazing even though there were so many people in other houses of the accommodation and the views just TOP!!
We recently stayed at Skalakot Manor and had the best experience. The rooms were so cozy and comfy. The sauna and hot tub felt amazing after a long day of exploring Iceland in the winter. The food and service in the restaurant was top notch. All of the staff goes above and beyond. We stay at about 4 different places during our trip and this was by far our favorite.
Simply awesome! Many Icelandic hostels have self check-in and you never see their staff. Here finally there are so cool humans that even show you around when checking in. The restaurant has a simple, local and tasty manu. Cool vibes in common zone, reasonable prices in the bar.
Our room was huge, with great view and clean bathroom. +100 for the hostel's dog!
amazing experience!
if you are wondering if you should stay at Midgard or not I would 100% recommend it. we watched the Northern lights from the hotel room. the hot tub is a great addition to the experience. we had dinner at the restaurant and the lamb was delicious. on the check out morning we talked to Gina(adorable lady) and she gave us loads of tips.
Book this hotel! Fantastic breakfast (probably our favorite during our 10 day stay in Iceland) and super friendly staff. Our ferry was cancelled the morning we were supposed to depart and the chef was quick to help us call and ask for a refund since we couldnt make the new time. The secluded hot tub is a nice bonus and location was remote in nature.
We stayed here for two nights whilst exploring the South/South West and it was fantastic. Our room was a really good size and nicely decorated (like the rest of the hotel). We loved the spa and used it both nights. Meals were excellent. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we came back to Iceland.
The apartment was excellently situated, and in a great location for exploring south west Iceland. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Good restaurants were also within walking distance. The hosts were also extremely accommodating and easy to deal with.
The internet was strong, the kitchen well-equipped, and the rooftop hot tub and sauna were huge pluses. The staff were helpful and answered any questions I had. I had a solo room and could have stayed there my whole trip if there wasn't more of Iceland to see.
Rental is a full house lost in the Icelandic countryside, surrounded by horses. Beautiful view of Vestmannaeyjar from the house. Very quiet and practical with three bedrooms, a bathroom and a big living room and kitchen. I recommend it :)
The view from the hotel was amazing. There is a beautiful mountain behind it.
The towel and sheets were very cool.
The room was little bit small but it was enough for us.
There are two dogs, they were so kind and smart.
Everything was great, the view was perfect as we just opened the door and saw the aurora right in front of us! The hotel was comfortable and pretty. Breakfast was very nice.
Private, quiet location. Easy in and out. Great views. Fantastic shower pressure. If you like iceland ponies, this is the place for you. Great shampoo/conditioner!
