A busy medium-sized city with lots to offer. Play golf at Araya, go on outings to Sengkaling and Batu, have beautiful and authentic meals at Hotel Tugu, go shopping at MOK or Town Square, or try the many street cafes and good restaurants (try the Hungry Kitten). A great vibe in the city due to the many students who attend the dozen universities and tertiary educational establishments in Malang.

The people there are so nice and helpful (we got some coffee and fruits and long conversations 😃). Good cheap tours organized by Jon. Beds are confortable. They said i could keep my bed and have a nap until midnight (before Bromo) without paying the night. One large dormitory, but though it is on a passing road, i could sleep well (no noise issues). Decoration of common room is nice.
