the hotel is very nicely positioned and has comfortable rooms that are above average, what is very bad is that the level of privacy is at a very low level for such a hotel.

One of the best mattresses I have slept on lately. Also, it's in a great neighborhood—possibly the best we visited in Zagreb. The city center is about 10-15 minutes away by Uber, but very easily reachable. I would definitely stay here again if I ever return to Zagreb and choose not to stay in the city center.

Its historic Upper Town (Gornji Grad) is characterized by cobblestone streets, medieval architecture, and landmarks such as St. Mark's Church and the Lotrščak Tower. Initially finding our way to the Dolac market (it was towards the end of the day so fruit and vegetables were cheaper) was via a bus and then a tram (best to travel with local currency in coins as public transport is very cheap), however as we explored the public transport network via the tram route it was a faster way to travel into and out of the city from where we stayed at m-blok. Catching a bus and tram back to the city to hire a car was seamless on our last day. Getting to and from places is very easy once you know where you're going so a car is unnecessary in Zagreb. You can buy bus/tram tickets at Tsik kiosks located close to public transport or on the bus/tram. Note that most coffee cafe's only sell coffee and not food. We enjoyed food from Pekara Dubravica 'home of the finest snacks'. They have a great chicken salad, three different types of burek and more. We ate at II Secondo (reasonable price and big serves), Burger Bar and Burger and Beer Bar Mrav (cheaper eats and big serves).

If you wanna be welcome ,don't come.
If you wanna be welcome ,don't come. I am saying this as a homegrown Zagrebian. I always feel unwelcomed, and I was born here :)
If you're passing through, by all means.
Foreigners generally like Zagreb, but if you're up for a good time, fun, music, company, just don't come. It's not worth the trip and it's not worth your money. Remember this capital is not treating it's own people well.
Go somewhere where the citizens are respected and foreigners are warmly welcome. Y'all have great stayings and safe journeys!

Zagreb is a great city ,transport very good easy to use and every kiosk sells trams tickets 56cents for 30 mins accross town and can be bought in various mins including a day ticket to travel from early morning to till night . there is a city bus that takes you to the airport for 1.12 euros you get a tram walk a few mins and pick up a bus so can be done cheaply, there is an 8 euro bus journey to/from the bus station and then a tram from there to centar and you know you have arrived as its like a big square with shops and resturants around it and on the right a of square the tourist office. A lot of the Churchs/Cathederal and palaces were not open to the public since the earthquake in 2020 still under repair as are a lot of buildings with minor damages. Lots of resturants to eat every where reasonably priced, the best shopping was in the area around the main train station there is an underground shopping mall and lots to choose from down there. .

The city is an easy city to travel around especially if you are central. Transport is good. The down side is the airport bagage claim, the airport lack of announcements for delayed flights and the fact that places of interest are closed on Easter and Easter Monday.

We only stayed in the old city and it was beautiful.
We only stayed in the old city and it was beautiful. So many green spaces, parks ,statues, sculptures and gorgeous architecture. Lots to see for free. It’s an easily walkable area but the transit is amazing and so affordable! There are so many museums to choose from. I really enjoyed the Museum of Broken Relationships, it was funny and sad and made me cry a few times, but was really unique. We also enjoyed being in the Stone Tower when the canon was fired. The gunner? or artillery man was a real treat . We were amazed by the Mirogoj cemetery and the Botanical gardens were lovely. Our favourite meal was at Stari Fijaker 900. Great food, service and historical ambiance.
Small boutique hotel about 10 mins drive from main railway station. Slick check in. We took 2 x Grand Luxury King Rooms; 103 and 104. Room 1003 was slightly larger than the other. Quality boutique feel, split mirrored main wall, silver grey tones, mini bar etc large walk in shower, all very clean. We had to leave at 6:15am to catch a train but they had prepared breakfast packs for us which were welcomed. Courteous staff. Great value for money. We would stay here again.
Elegant and modern hotel. Located in a business quiet area, approximately 25 minutes walk to the main square or by tram No 13. The stop is in the main street in front of the hotel, as well as the bus stop for transfer from/to the airport, which is very convenient. The staff is extremely kind and helpful and the services very fast and efficient. The room is very spacious, warm and clean, beds very comfortable.
We loved everything about Hotel Republika! It’s location is perfect, situated in a very quiet and park-like setting, yet a close and charming walking distance to the city centre. The apartment is large and very comfortable, well organized with everything we needed. And most importantly, the staff who was very friendly and welcoming! I just wish we had stayed longer. It must be magical during Christmas time.
The hotel locates in walking distance (15 min) from Zagreb Bus Terminal with airport bus stop and 25-30 min from the city center & has basic amentities. My room had good heating (AC), minibar & kettler. The place is quiet. The staff was helpful and provided available information. The breakfast was good. The nearest minimarket was Konzum in Bus Station building.
Very comfortable beds. Rooms although slightly outdated decor-wise, were clean and spacious. Location was good, ideal if arriving in Croatia late at night as the hotel is close to the airport and provides late check ins and free parking. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was varied and delicious, also included in the room rate.
Happy with our stay, it was up to a level you’d expect from a Hilton hotel. The room was comfortable, newly furnished and clean. We liked the breakfast selection as there was quite a large variety to choose from. They offer paid parking in a garage or a parking lot as well, which is convinient being so close to the city center.
I really liked the Hotel location, I was surprised by the simplicity to use public transportation to take us to the city center (in a few minutes) and to the shopping malls / sports arenas in the other direction. Room vas very clean and tidy and the breakfast was ok (no luxury but enough of good fresh food)
The room was big and clean, and even though we had a pretty basic room we had a sofa, desk and king-sized bed (which was very comfortable). The bathroom was nice. A walking distance from the city center. The hotel’s pool was great - both large and well designed. It even had calming background music :)
The apartment is located in city center and within walking distance to everything I needed to visit. I love the small kitchen and working desk, it makes the space much more usable compared to a hotel room. Everything was clean. The owner responded immediately to a phone call when I had a question.
We loved the gym and spa at this hotel, the spa area was lovely, gym small but had what we needed. The surrounding area had lots of bars and restaurants, nearby supermarkets. The tram stop was around a 5 minute walk, you could walk into the city centre but it was probably half an hour walk.
Location and the best bed you can ever imagine in a hotel - spaciuos and amazingly comfortable. Hotel is located 10 minutes from the city center, which is really convenient, stuff is amazing and going above and beyond into making sure a guest has everything they need.
Clean, comfortable, quite room with everything needed for a few days stay. Kind and helpful staff. The hotel is very close to the buss station therefore convenient to reach the airport. Around 15-20 minutes walk from the city center which was also convenient for me.
We stayed in this hotel for the second time as it is in a great location, out of the city center and close to Medvednica. The place is like you walking into a historical museum. Each room is decorated differently and all in baroque style. We're surely coming back.
Great hotel in the very City Center of Zagreb.
Really kind staff. I got everything I asked about.
Offers great comfort.
The restaurant in good and also the SPA.
The parking is safe and much cheaper than parking 24 hours in the street outside.
Definitely a place to visit again! Located in the city centre, yet no traffic noise. Staff extremely friendly, Lucia especially. The double bad was perfectly comfortable...all in one: one of the best hotels I visited in Zagreb.
i love love this Hotel it’s one of the best in ZG Croatia.
I only stay here. can’t wait to be back again. Thank you
everyone in Hotel Esplanade. i really appreciate everything
you did for us. 😊
The hotel is conveniently located, about 20 minutes both from the airport and the city center, in a quiet area. The room was large and clean. In fact, the entire hotel felt that way.
