What I liked the most is that there were no cars, you can go everywhere on foot, very picturesque, quite, the people are friendly and polite, the food was great a bit expensive in elegant restaurants though.
I would like to go again!

NIce island. No cars. Beaches easy to access.
NIce island. No cars. Beaches easy to access. Plenty o decent restaurants
Sometimes Hydra Town gets a bit touristy mostly when the big passenger boats come in. The business goes when the passenger ships leave! Nice opportunities for walks outside town, beautiful environment. The town is clean and there are some small supermarkets to get supplies.

Pros: Clean, great food, many options, a lot to see.
Pros: Clean, great food, many options, a lot to see. Good for walking, has small horses and donkeys for transportation. No cars. Everything in walking distance.
Cons: many of the restaurants were not open (March 2024), while their websites said they were. Relevantly pricey. Ugly, monstrous yachts moored at the front of the little harbour. Expect tourists with an attitude - not very friendly.

Hydra is the sort of place where you can quite happily sit at a cafe on the harbour side and do nothing apart from watch the boats and people come and go. It’s such a beautiful harbour. There’s a swimming area at the headland at one end of the harbour, where the rocks have been modelled to provide comfortable sitting and sunbathing, and where the water is an absolutely gorgeous colour. There are taxi boats to beaches further away, tho I didn’t use them.

So peaceful, no cars, mopeds or bicycles.
Love the horses, donkeys and mules.
Don't visit if you don't like cats.
No sandy beaches but plenty of opportunities to swim in the beautiful green and blue Agean Sea.
Excelent location, very close from the port ( less than 50.m on a flat way - just a very short walk 1 minute from the landind area tio the hotel door). The room was cosy, very clean (evry day cleaning and changing towels) and it had a large beautiful private terrace with a lot of flowers in large red pots and with a retractable canopy..
The staf was very kind and helpfull - we could let our luggage after we have checked out until we have decided to get the boat back to the mainland..
We will be very happy to return there.
I loved the location of the Nesea apartments, after visiting I would not want to be any closer to the port. This apartment was one street back from the water. It was quiet but also super close to everything. The breakfast took place at a restaurant near the water. It was wonderful and 100% worth including in our stay. Evi was super helpful and only a text or email away. I would stay here again if I get lucky enough to return to Hydra. We did 10 days in Greece and this was my favorite location.
Filenia was the perfect hotel for our stay in Hydra - outstanding hospitality from Rebecca during the entirety of our stay! The hotel is a few stones throw away from the port and was easy to reach with luggage, and near to all the restaurants and businesses. The air conditioning and coffee machine in the room were very needed! Rebecca gave us lots of recommendations for the island and checked boat times for us which was a great help! We‘d love to come and stay here again!
The small hotel is situated in a very quiet area but in center of Hydra. Hilda, the owner was very helpful, and gave us a lot of information about the island. We had a lovely, spacious suite with a balcony overlooking the busy street - donkeys doing their daily work. We enjoyed the lovely homemade breakfast each morning on the veranda. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I would recommend it to stay at this hotel!!
The hotel is in a very quiet area but close to everything. Complete silence at night. We thoroughly enjoyed a very spacious and atmospheric room. We loved the breakfast, welcoming attitude and assistance with various issues and questions from Hilda. She helped us with taxis, a person to bring our luggage from the port, beaches to go to, restaurants, etc. always feeling cared for.
Absolutely fabulous Greek island destination & this boutique hotel was an absolute gem! The hotel was nicely positioned with a short stroll from the port with donkeys available to carry bags. The staff were most a helpful and the breakfasts were exceptional, we looked forward to what was served each morning. We plan to return to Hydra in the future & will stay at the same hotel.
Historic and beautiful hotel, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the decor is traditional and beautiful. We arrived at the hotel before check-in time, but they prepared a room for us. Breakfast in the beautiful courtyard was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a wonderful stay at Hydra, thank you for everything.
Breakfast was great! Eleni is literally great, so kind, and always at our service. Yanis as well.
Location is what I like the most and the charming garden and architecture/interior (old style) of the hotel.
Many thanks for all! My 6 years old kid and I enjoyed Hydra so much - beaches and town. All recommendations!
The host family was extremely warm and made us feel very comfortable!
Hotel location is barely 5 minutes from the ferry stop and since I had a balcony room, the view was fantastic! I would surely recommend to stay here for 1-2 nights since Hydra is a great place to soak in and relax.
Beautiful mansion converted into a B&B. The breakfast was the best and most elaborate I had in Greece. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. I enjoyed my stay so much that I decided to stay a second night. The proprietors moved heaven and earth to allow me to stay.
stayed in two hotels in Hydra. this was much more expensive than other and not nearly as good either. room very basic and rather run down no breakfast felt more like a private room in hostel than hotel. great location but overall it was adequate no more
The hotel is lovely, the staff is very kind and welcoming. Our room and its terrace were fantastic. A very short walk from great restaurants and the port. We booked here because of the hotel location and its pool, and we wish we could've stayed longer!
This hotel is charming and quaint. It’s surprisingly quiet at night given it’s vicinity to the main part of town (which makes for a great location for easy access to many shops and restaurants). The staff are eager to help and are very welcoming.
Wonderful 3 room guesthouse that functions like a small boutique hotel. Crazy beautiful bathroom, comfortable bed, nice courtyard and high touches like wine, coffee and snacks in your room. Perfect location- easy walk from the harbor.
A charming place in the center of Hydra. No luxury but with everything you need for a pleasant stay! The interior is a bit used, but rooms are very clean!
