La Maison des Ocres - Provence, hotel in Roussillon

La Maison des Ocres is a hotel located in Roussillon en Provence, one of the most beautiful villages of France. The village center is 492 feet away.

The location, the Ocres, surrounding towns and breakfast were great and the host was amazing! Because we traveled off season, there were no places open for dinner. However, David was able to send us just a few miles away to 2 different towns that had great places to eat for dinner and even made reservations for us so we were guaranteed a table.

The location is superb. The room was very nice. Breakfast was served to the table vs a buffet, but it was plentiful and very good. The hosts offered to make a restaurant reservation for us in advance since the on site restaurant was closed that day.

La Clé des Champs & Spa, hotel in Roussillon

This boutique-hotel is located in the middle of lavender fields in the Luberon Region, 1.9 mi from the center of Roussillon.

Pool was very clean and inviting after hot days touring the Luberon. The owners were lovely and very helpful. They explained the history of the guesthouse of 9 rooms, that it was built in the 70s as the original hotel for Roussillon and the owners have spent last 9 yrs updating it. Every room feels private by way of its situation at an angle from the others, quite unique. It feels very calm and peaceful in the country but still a short drive to Rousillon and Gordes. The breakfast was cooked to order and substantial.

It was an excellent location to explore the villages in the area including Roussillon. Please note however, that it is not situated in any town, but in a lovely forested area near many beautiful villages.

The old property was, we think, a farmhouse. There was no a/c. 40 decrees day. Night too hot. Many door & windows wouldn't open for ventilation. Bathroom glass door panel was seriously cracked, as was panel on shower wall. Dangerous. Some elec. points old and loose. No tv. but didn't mind. Host, Christine, couldn't have been more helpful. Good breakfasts. Lovely location. Peaceful and quiet.

Rousillon is a cute little hilltop village - we had a wonderful stroll and dinner and overnight stay at La Maison des Ocres. I would recommend it for an overnight stop but not necessary for a long stop.

A few comments we read indicated some sort of weird vibe from this town, which made us second-guess our decision to visit and stay in the area. But we are so glad we didn't change our plans - we didn't feel that way at all. We loved Roussillon. The shops and the restaurants were great, most with balconies over the cliffs and very good, reasonably priced meals. Plenty to see and do in the area.

Roussillon is a beautiful little old village on a hilltop with magnificent views. There are lots of reasonably priced restaurants. There is a public car park quite near the centre which is not expensive and free on a Sunday.

Very picturesque & clean, with wonderful views of the cliffs & the surrounding area & the entire town smelled great! Terrific place for walking (if you like uphill climbs!); not so great for cars (not unexpected) but most car traffic observes safety rules. The Thursday market was full of beautiful, fresh foods as well as lots of things you'd actually like to buy! Perfect spot in Provence!

The kindness, hospitality and generosity of Marie Paule and Jean Paul were very apparent. We are strangers and they treated us as if we were family and we will forever have this experience planted in our memories. The location is magical with a lot of free space, pine trees and peaceful surroundings. The beautiful villages around Roussillon, the great food , the spectacular scenery. Much much happy.

Patricia and Phillip were extremely helpful and accommodating. We had a room on the top floor which would have been a problem had not Phillip carried all our bags up and down the stairs. They have a lovely backyard with a heated pool and welcoming garden. Their location is very close to all the Luberons villages too. Patricia made us the most heavenly omelets each morning. I cannot wait to return.

Wonderful small villa in Provence region. There was a really nice terrace adjoining living room and also a little backyard with a jacuzzi (that we used and listened to some beautiful acoustic guitar playing from the neighbors). Very clean and well organized. Excellent value and I would totally recommend to stay here as a base to explore the lovely Provence towns and villages further.

Our loft apartment had a spacious terrace with a commanding view of the Provence countryside. Staff was most helpful in all matters and made our stay a joy, with assistence in restaurant picks and reservations. The breakfast buffet was perfectly stocked and maintained and an excellent value. Parking is easy and next to hotel. A lovely pool and a picnic pavilion are also available.

Eric and Paola were incredible hosts! The property itself is absolutely gorgeous, even better than the pictures, and the rooms were perfect. It was our first time in the south of France and Eric/Paola were always helpful with recommendations and helped us have a 10/10 experience on our trip. If you're looking for a place to stay in this area look no further.

Marjolene is an exceptional host who put tremendous effort to make our stay perfect. The place itself used to be a 17-century monastery that Marjolene restored and renovated. Located square in the center of Roussillon, and our room had spectacular views from the balcony.

Le Clé des Champs was a wonderful place to stay close to Roussillon and central to all the hill towns of the Luberon. The B&B was perfect in every way and our hosts were amazing! Dinners served at Le Cle were 5 star for sure! It was our home away from home for a week!
