We loved everything from the moment we walked in. It is warm and cozy, maintained at a very high level. A lot of thought was given to every detail. The staff are extremely friendly and happy to assist. The breakfast is at a 5-star level, no less. Too bad we only stayed one night. Thank you very much Uri Regev

A really top-class option in Jicin. We had booked the Suite and had some expectations, but they were really overdone by this wonderful establishment. The hotel seems quite new and has very high standards. The breakfast was superb always overlooked and acompanied by friendly efficient staff. We would definitely like to come back to what was also a surprisingly beatiful city.

Delicious breakfast and meals in the local restaurant. Staff was also really helpful. Wonderful place in the very middle of the city. It was possible to park a car near the front door for free.

Jicin is most charming by night, when it is quiet and...
Jicin is most charming by night, when it is quiet and romantic. The huge number of cars parking in the main old town square is a problem in all Czech towns. Don't expect to do any shopping after 5 pm unless you have a car to drive to a big market outside the town centre. There are rather few places to eat anything other than pizza or kebab (the sports hall halfway to Wallenstein lodge had a good though not cheap restaurant). For such a small town, the historical architecture is really impressive, but what we loved most was the walk in the wild forest park behind the Wallenstein lodge 2km from the centre down the unique linden alley and to the Jewish cemetery near the lodge. There's also a v. interesting Jewish cultural centre in Židovská 100 (dedicated to Jewish writers of the German language). To visit these places inside, you need to call them in advance.

This is a nice town.
This is a nice town. The reason we traveled here was so that we could explore the Cesky Raj park and have a nice hotel and restaurants for the evenings. It was easy to walk from the bus or train station to the main square. We would suggest traveling by bus from Praha instead of the train as we did because the bus trip is shorter. And it was easy to take a train or taxi to the parts of the park which we wanted to explore. There were several choices of restaurants and there was even a local market on the town square on Saturday. I wished that we had had more time to explore the city. The people we met in the restaurants were friendly and our hotel was amazing. Just be aware that we were off season and that most of the castles in the Czech Republic are closed starting Nov. 1 until spring. We were able to see some of the castles from the distance, but not able to explore them closer or tour them during our stay.RachelUnited States - 10Scored 10

There are lots of little museums here, the square is nice and the town has a nice relaxing atmosphere. There are some nice sights a bit outside of town, including amazing nature so Jicin is nice to stay for a few days to go hiking through the sandstone rock formations of Bohemian Paradise.PaulCzech Republic - 10Scored 10
I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful medieval and...
I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful medieval and natural sights around Jicin and in the city itself. Having friends made the visit very personal. We toured the Hrad Trosky, the Prachov Rocks in the autumn leaves, the Valdicka Clock, Palace Park, Linden Alley, Fair Dragon, and Loggia! It's worth at least two days of touring without hordes of tourists!

Nice village.
Nice village. Pity everything is closed on Saturday afternoon. Just some bars open.... The train journey from Praha is very pretty and feels a bit like time travelling to the past...very sweet. Prachovské skály is not far and great site to discover.

Very close to the wonderful and scenic area of outstanding beauty - Prakovsky Skaly (Prachov Rocks), which used to echo to the sound of racing motorcycle that used to pass through this area on a road racing circuit over 40 years ago.

We were allowed to charge our electric car on premise, which made our trips in the area, which has a lot of nice and doable hikes, easy. The evenings can be made extra cosy by burning the modern wood stove and the upstairs lounge has all you need for comfy chilling. And if you feel like going out you should definitely try dinner at La Favorita in Jicin, which (no surprise ;)) is also (co)owned by Jan.

Breakfast was for extra price with a custom breakfast menu including fresh fruit and vegetables. Despite what it is specified on Booking.com the appartment HAD free Wi-fi.
