It was a beautiful city with a lot of green space.
It was a beautiful city with a lot of green space. I really enjoyed the energy and resilience of the people. I did not feel unsafe, not anymore than any other large city. I also stayed smart and watched my bags for pickpockets, which was my biggest concern. I avoided areas and activities that could get me in trouble. The metro was easy to maneuver.

Look very closely the hotel and room you rent to include the amenities.. I have stayed in over 6 different hotels in the range of $60-$87. It was very difficult to find a good hotel that met my basic needs
1- Ac that works, not fans
2- A good breakfast or at least a place to eat close by
3- Security or lighting when returning at night
4- Clean working bathrooms with hot water and knobs that don't fall off
5- No surprises when checking in or out with surprise fees
When you find one like I have stick to that hotel the next visit or go up in price range

Comfortable weather. Awesome food, beer and coffee.
Comfortable weather. Awesome food, beer and coffee. You can plan your whole trip around the city with Uber, super safe and cheap. Hear the advise of the locals, they know better. Plan for a whole afternoon on "Comuna 13", immerse yourself in the culture, have dinner and do your shopping. Withdraw money on the "BanColombia" ATM's, they have the better rate. Book the Guatapé trip, but make sure that they stop at "Altos del Chocho". Tip your tour guides and waiters, they work for it.

The food and the culture were great. The views were amazing.
The food and the culture were great. The views were amazing. And although the tap water is safe to drink in this city, I would stick to bottled water unless you won't mind the rather poor (and metallic) taste of tap.
One thing to note if you are an obvious foreigner, there are people constantly hounding you and bombarding you while you are walking in the street just to sell you things, get you to dine with them, or simply give you money. This was my least favorite part of the trip. I am a tall white American woman. At certain times of the day/night, I could not walk 10 steps without being approached by street vendors or begging children.

The city if Medellin is a city like no other.
The city if Medellin is a city like no other. You have a mixture of city-like with the immersive of nature. It looks like a city with beauty and nature combined. I suggest taking the metro or cable car. Medellin is similar to NYC but way more eco-friendly!

be careful with taxi's they may run the bill up taking longer routes, UBER works better, but even they try to modify a trip for a greater fare .. You can walk el Pobaldo without any problem .
Worst hotel ever. This is not a 5 star hotel, it is a 2-3 star hotel. I have traveller around the world and around Colombia but I have never seen such a hotel, claiming to be 5 star. the rooms are very basic, the breakfast is the same as in a 2 star motel, the noise from the hotel’s own disco is awful; the staff is rude and do not care about the people staying at the hotel! stay away from this hotel unless you are 18 years old and want to party all night. The price is for a 5 star, but the service is that of a 2 star. worst hotel in Colombia
This hotel in a "real" neighbourhood in Medellin, was comfortable, clean and friendly. The bed and sheets were top quality. The room was small, but had room to store our clothes and suitcases. The staff were excellent, and like so many others we have met in Colombia, very friendly. The neighbourhood is full of families going about their lives, with great fruit stands and grocery stores nearby. We walked everywhere, even back to Poblado to sample a restaurant we had missed the previous visit. An interesting neighbourhood.
I have worked in the hotel industry for over 20 years. This was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The jungle garden ambience exceeded my expectations. The staff spoke English fluently. I stayed in four other hotels in Colombia on this trip, and the staff were by far the friendliest, most informative, empathetic of them all. I was happy to stay in on the rainy days. This place is private, cozy, warm and inviting with multiple places to curl up and read a book or watch the hummingbirds. I loved this place.
we stay in a lot of hotels in a lot of places in the world but I can't think of one better than this (considering the price and place, of course). it draws an international hipster crowd, which has it's pros and cons (it's certainly not a very "colombian" experience to stay at landmark, if there's such a thing as the "colombian" experience), but if you're up for a hotel where simply, for once, everything works and every traveller's need has been considered, try this one.
Boutique hotel in the calm part of Poblado (in terms of foot and vehicular traffic) with spacious and well-appointed rooms, plus a balcony. I liked that they had separate dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body gel. It was also a pleasant surprise to have a/c in the room, which is not a guarantee with hotels/hostels in Medellin. If you're a small eater, the filling breakfast that is included in the price will last you until dinner. The staff were friendly.
The hosts were amazing! The rooms are well clean, the bed is so comfortable, and the decorations are unique with a lot of Colombian handicrafts. Close to the metro's station by 3 minutes walking, and also to Provenza, parque lleras, Manila by 8-12 minutes on taxi. My husband and I love there. The photos are real (looks better in person than in photos), regretted not being booked for a longer stay in Medellin. Highly recommend it!
An excellent local boutique hotel! The area is quiet but with a couple restaurants across the street. Close enough to Provenza to make it an easy walk, but far enough removed to have breathing room.
I loved the array of Colombian-produced home goods adjacent to the lobby. They add to the ambiance, but are also for purchase. It's obvious that Sui takes pride in their hotel and the local economy around them. Highly recommended
The location of Hotel Torre Poblado is perfect. You are right in the center of El Poblado — only 5-10min walk to Parque Lleras and Provenza. The restaurants around the area are also great to try out. ATMs are available in local drug stores and there is a heavy police presence in the area.
Also, you HAVE to check out the view from the 10th floor. This is the area you have breakfast in and trust me, the view is breathtaking.
The staff was first class and very helpful at all time(spoke good English). The property was very beautiful, clean, water was extremely hot(the best shower I have ever had in Colombia). The building structure and setup is amazing. There are two restaurants connected to the hotel, which have a lot of different food options. The rooms were very comfortable.
It was my 2nd and 3rd stay at the Belford and I have been as happy as I was the first time: quiet location just 5 minutes by car from the center of El Poblado, stylish appeal, great pool, comfy rooms with everything you can ask for, good breakfast (for Colombia that is), very helpful and friendly English speaking (!!!) staff. At this price level a gem!
We had a great stay in this very charming hotel. They basically converted a very typical colombian house to a hotel. The room was very spacious for family like us and clean. All the staff is very considerate. The food is excellent and reasonably priced and made by lovely cooks. And the view from the rooftop is amazing by night. Highly recommend!
The property was in excellent condition. ALL staff were very attentive and friendly! Angelica, Jose, Camila and Damalier were soooo accommodating!!! As well as the rest of the staff. It is very close to El Poblado and seemed like a safe neighborhood. I would highly recommend this hotel and would go back on my next trip to Medellin.
Location is awesome! Very safe neighborhood; close to everything with Colombia's dirt-cheap Ubers. It's a mix between an apartment and a hotel (hence the name!), and it combines the customer service aspect of a hotel with the privacy of an apartment. Host is awesome too! She's very friendly and helpful.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Sites Hotel, the room was spacious and clean, the bed a bit too soft for us, the nightly view from the balcony just great. The cleaning and restaurant staff was very nice and the service at breakfast was the best we experienced on our 2 months Colombia trip so far.
The Somos hotel had a unique and fun aesthetic that I really enjoyed. It was a refreshing change from the typical chain hotel experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The parties here are epic, Women are incredibly attractive, I swear I want to marry a Colombian.
The hotel is located in between Parque el Poblado and Parque Lleras in a quiet street and right in the center of El Poblado. The room was well equiped with a fridge which was convenient. It is a great deal for the price. We enjoyed staying there and can recommend it.
I like a lot of things about Hotel Med Colombia, the staff is very professional and helpful, strong WiFi into the room, the shower has hot water, which is great. Also the location is fine, near the stadium and metro.
I will come back there for sure. Recommended!
great location in El Poblado Area. The hotel is near the Santa Fe Shopping mall and Andres Carne de Res (great steakhouse in Medellin).
Helpful hotel staff that makes you feel at home.
Good breakfast with a lot of options
Swimming pool is large
Location and the staff. Everything you could need or want is within a block or two of the hotel. The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to help. Good in room air conditioning, which isn’t common in Colombia.
I loved the staff and the facilities were first class all the way!! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone interested in a vacation to Medellin Colombia!
