Stein am Rhein is beautiful--a veritable museum of late medieval architecture. The hotel is in the middle of the "museum" and the streets are a delight to walk through. Hotel service, room, and breakfast were all excellent.

We were thrilled to find the Hotel Adler. We could have stayed for much longer. Very welcoming hosts, delicious breakfast and a very comfortable room with a large bathroom. Recently renovated, it totally exceeded our expectations- and we look forward to returning.

Beautiful spacious apartment, super clean and kitted out with everything you would need for your stay. Comfy bed and linen and a large good shower. Hosts were great and thoughtful in the things they provided which were really nice touches and helpful for a short stay . Location is beside a really pretty hillside meadow just a 10 minute or so walk from town centre . It’s a lovely walk down to the park and along the riverside path. Pizza restaurant just down the hill, very quick easy walk.

The nature around is very nice, a lot of green and beautiful scents. I am sorry we didn't get to explore all the surroundings as we didn't have time. But the garden is a joy to the eye. The food was delicious and many of the ingredients were locally sourced. Very nice surprise this accomodation!
Very quaint town along the Rhein river. Easy to drive to Schaffhausen and Rheinfalls. Also easy access to the boats going up and down the river. We rented eBikes at River Bike in town, and there are some great bike paths (like Stein am Rhein to Diessenhofen which goes through a forest in Germany).

A beautiful little Swiss village with an old town sector not to miss and river walks to enjoy. Historically interesting monastery nicely preserved. The Rhein River valley is beautiful here. Excellent cycling destination.

The evening we stayed in Stein am Rhein, they had a big fireworks display at the Rhein. This was really amazing to see, only drawback was that lots of people came to enjoy the fireworks, meaning parking in the town (and at our hotel) was impossible :).
Hotel is on the Rhein, our window looked out on the water.
Facilities were excellent. Old bldg, but rooms and bathrooms were up todate. There was an elevator.
Dinner, at the hotel on the terrace next to the Rhein, was excellent.
Also within steps of main street in Stein am Rhein.
Parking was outside the walls, but just a couple minutes walking (wheeling suitcases).
Franz took great care of us, and made us feel very welcome into his house. The breakfast was very nice and set in a sun room with a small view of the Rhein River. The beds were very comfortable and the room had a nice balcony. We enjoyed the garden and it was only a 10 minute walk along the river into the center of Stein am Rhein. Would definitely stay here again.
Loved the buffet breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Rhein. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and spacious even with an extra bed for my daughter. The pillow menu is a great idea too. Loved the fitness area and playing table tennis. Loved the views and the pretty hotel grounds.
Breakfast has limited adequate selection...coffee is excellent. The view of the Rhein River from terrace is fabulous. So overall, a very positive breakfast experience. Wifi works best at the reception table near entrance. This hotel has an excellent location with large, clean rooms overlooking the Rhein.
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It is well located near the public car park and in a walking distance from the city center. The owners were very friendly and careful. We really liked the breakfast (flexibly adapted to comply with our gluten free diet). The wifi was very reliable.
The location was perfect for exploring Stein am Rhein and the area around. The self catering flat was cosy and spotlessly clean. The hosts were friendly and helpful and had thoughtfully equipped the apartment and added some unexpected extras to help out before shopping.
The hotel was cute, well maintained, and the owner is very nice. The rooms were good size. We traveled with 2 kids and everything was very easy.
Breakfast was perfect for our needs. Breads, meat, cheese, eggs, cereal, coffee and juice.
Highly recommend.
This hotel is nicely located with a lovely terrace and garden to relax in. The breakfast had nice fresh bread and excellent coffee- a typical German breakfast well presented. The building is dated, but well kept and the host was very nice.
Second time in this Hotel and Ill keep going back!!
Location is prefect, comfort and service as well.
We arrived by bike and the hotel has a space to store it . If you have e bikes , you can charge it direct at the bike storage area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 1 night stay at Schloss Freudenfels. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinner was fantastic, with great service. It is located in a very peaceful and serene area about 10 minutes from Stein Am Rhein.
Wonderful hotel on the Rhine with great views from the rooms facing the river. Dinner was very tasty, location w.r.t. the town center is perfect. We really enjoyed the furnishing of the lobby on the 1st floor, it looked like a museum.
The property was a perfect little apartment in a quiet neighbourhood in walking distance of the centre of Stein am Rhein. Comfortable beds and a decent little kitchen. The only thing missing was a microwave!
Very nice location in a beautiful town and area. Very organized and the facilities and services were exactly what we were looking for. Parking available over night right in front of the hotel.
The hotel is very charming, the kids felt it was magical to see the old decorations! We had a lovely large room and plenty of storage space. We would love to return again another time!
The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. The location was great, just a 10 minute walk from the train station. The breakfast is nice as well.
