Decent curry - India Express, Kantstraße 74, 10627. Good burgers - Burgermeister Schlesisches Tor, Oberbaumstraße 8, 10997. Best tour to visit - Berliner Unterwelten (Tour M). Berlin Cathedral is nice and the rooftop views are great. Reichstag Building is fascinating but you must book well in advance. Get the BVG Fahrinfo phone app, book a 24hr pass if you plan to use public transport a lot. Use nextbike app to hire bicycles on the streets.

Berlin is a city where you can almost feel history all around you. From Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, The Berlin Wall, the location of the bunker where Hitler committed suicide. Even the hotel where MJ held his infant over the balcony. Berlin is a city of history mixed in with restaurants, nightlife, bars and magnificent parks. Don't forget a day trip to Potsdam. The gardens and palaces are worth the trip.

You cannot miss the Reichstag dome (remember to book it in advance, the entrance is free). I've loved Potsdamer Plaz and the sorroundings, the East Side Gallery and also Nikolaiviertel, but the overall city is something unique and special.

I really like Berlin.
I really like Berlin. In fact I lived in the city for 4 years a while ago and miss it very much having since moved away. I have only two main problems: 1. Berliners don't speak proper German! They have a terrible local accent which for me - having learned Hochdeutsch at school many years ago - has always been very, very hard to understand. But Berliners themselves are nice folk, even if they can't speak German. 2. Berlin airport! The capital city of Germany deserves a far better airport than this recently finished one, which is nothing short of a national disgrace. It's an absolute shambles and *extremely* badly run. If you want to visit this great city, then I would *strongly* advise you avoid the shambolic and ghastly BER and find some alternative point of entry/exit.

We had perfect weather so spent 3 days in Berlin against a backdrop of clear blue skies and sunshine. The complex history of the city over the course of the last century is clearly explained in free exhibitions/museums/memorials. We came away with a lot more understanding and knowledge and with respect for the city for not shying away from the hard facts of the Holocaust . The area in which we stayed was in the old Jewish quarter and we were moved by the brass plaques set into the pavements detailing residents who had fled or been transported to concentration camps. In spite of its difficult past the city and its citizens seem vivacious, young and optimistic. We loved being amongst them and were impressed by how friendly and approachable everyone was towards us. Transport is superb and the streets full of bicycles. Lovely places to eat and drink and we even heard a nightingale singing in a park not far from Rosenplatz. We particularly enjoyed East Berlin, very happening. We enjoyed the riverside (Spree) and even took a 1 hour river cruise which was great as the guide told us about the history of Berlin. The best meal we had was at Adnan's, a Turkish restaurant, also in the East. Amazing food! Worth a trip to Check Point Charlie and surrounds. But to me the very best things about this hotel was the hospitality and the kindness of the hotel manager and how he was willing to help with anything just to make sure you gonna be comfortable as there guest . I never felt so welcomed in a hotel like how I felt with them and definitely I’ll be back to the hotel :-)

The rooms were immaculate, and the breakfast had everything you would need to set you up for the day. The location is the added bonus. The Mercedes benz arena and main train station are practically on your doorstep. About a 5 min walk. Plenty of places to eat all around or only 3 stops on the U if you want to go into the city centre. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Berlin. 10 out of 10 ❤️

It was an ideal location for visiting InnoTrans as it was a 25min walk or 10min train journey to Messe Nord. The location is also convenient for travelling into Berlin City Centre. The hotel is very quiet and located in a very nice and safe district of Berlin. Reaching the city center is easy by bus and S-Bahn for about 30 minutes. The personnel were friendly and I even managed to check-in quite early. Near Lichterfelde West there are enough options of restaurants and shops.
