The room on the 8th floor was a great size, clean, modern and comfortable. Enjoyed the smart bathroom and facilities. Chocolate hour was fun and delicious as was the buffet breakfast. We were accommodated well when we could not get the desired time for our dinner reservation, by luxurious room service. Bought my daughter for a girls weekend and she thought it was exceptional, especially the pool and sauna. Great location and the staff were outstanding

We stayed at the Apollo which was an easy walk into town.
We stayed at the Apollo which was an easy walk into town. Buses to areas out of the city seemed pretty regular. Wellington is a pretty switched on city, with a creative energy and plenty of things to enjoy. Cuba St which is pedestrians only has plenty of cafes and restaurants and the food is top notch. Our favourites for dinner were Loretta’s, Olive, Mr Go’s. Icecream and Creaming sodas at Duck Island, coffees at Pickle and Pie, Cheese Scones beautiful pastries and coffee at Myrtle’s. Some good clothing shops, also recycling shops where there was really good clothing for sale at low prices, good bookstores. A must visit is Te Papa Museum - Level 4 Māori and Pacific Island history is impressive. The museum’s shop is also worth checking out. The lobby of QT Hotel (there’s a golden hippo on the hotel’s exterior) - you don’t need to be a guest to wander in to view the lobby area which includes a magnificent private art collection and a ritzy bar. Plenty of bars with music and Sunday Farmers Market on the waterfront was bustling with plenty of fruit and vegetables along with brunch food and coffee available.

Bus rides and train rides are awesome, just get yourself a Snapper card and more than one person can travel with that one card. Only one person can travel on that card on trains. Travelling in bus was also good, no hassle to driving or parking, bus service are almost everywhere till late nights and safe environments.

We thought Wellington was a beautiful City.
We thought Wellington was a beautiful City. We were there in late March. The weather was lovely and cool, just the right temperature if you like to explore a new location on foot. The bus system in the City is brilliant. The Metlink public transport card system can be a little intimidating but once you master it, it works exceptionally well. Otherwise, you can pay cash when travelling on the buses or trains, but it is quite significantly more expensive to pay this way. Also, it pays to check out the fare before you travel and have the correct money when getting on because nearly everyone uses the prepaid Metlink card so the driver has limited change. The seafood in New Zealand is the best in the world in my opinion. If you are staying centrally and have cooking facilities, I would recommend the Seafood Market in Lambton Quay or Cuba Street. It is not a huge shop but the fish comes in daily. Their fish and chips are pretty good as well. But there are plenty of seafood restaurants around that serve great food. Wellington is a a gorgeous city and reminded me very much of San Francisco.

Visited Te Papa Museum, Wellington Museum, Botanic Gardens...
Visited Te Papa Museum, Wellington Museum, Botanic Gardens and Portrait Gallery, all free access and excellent. Also took Cable Car (as you do) but the walk to and from Botanic Gardens is relatively easy as well. Went to Te Papa Museum and spent the entire day there - excellent. Ate at the Crab Shack and had the best meal in our entire NZ 2 week holiday - unfortunately, it was closed for 2 out of the 3 days we were in Wellington or we would have been back.
We have stayed at several Quest Apartments throughout New Zealand. The cleanliness, maintenance, as well as age of the room's decor of this facility has been the best that we have experienced thus far. The room was spacious and the kitchen extremely well-resourced for a couple's needs. Its close proximity to the city, meant it was easy to walk into central Wellington to the city and its attractions. This is the second time we have stayed at this particular facility and would do so again in the future.
Location was brilliant. We were going to Kinky boots at St James and its right next door. Airport bus almost stops right outside door to as do buses for zoo. Irish pub Jack Hackett is on opposite corner and has great food and entertainment. Easy walking distance to everything in Wellington city. Reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Comfy bed, good shower pressure. Small window but nice enough view over to bay.
breakfast was ideal from the OJ to great cereal choice and whole meal toast. The tea was strong and perfect for a days work
Excellent and charming facilities. Warm and comfortable. Easy parking, superbly located to work and relaxation in Wellington city. John is a wonderful host and it seemed all the other guests were very interesting and friendly.
Beats a sterile and impersonal fancy hotel hands down.
Great that the hotels are getting past the lockdown. Delighted that the hotel has a sustainable rating. Our stay was generally comfortable and the facilities good. The position is excellent for getting around the city. Hoping the sustainable rating includes zero waste and zero emissions. These were not mentioned.
We intend to stay again and hope the internet connection is good.
Loved the breakfast, the staff was very helpful, the bedrooms are super clean and luxurious. Beds were excellent and very comfortable, room was big. Stayed there 2 nights, only booked here because the reviews were exceptional compared to the city hotels reviews which turned out to be true. Will stay here again when we visit Wellington next.
Great location on cuba street that is convenient to a lot of restauraunts and the city center. The hotel and rooms have a unique character that's a nice change from boring hotel decorations. Great breakfast that is served with a nice window view of the city. Parking garage is convenient. Hotel rooms seem recently upgraded.
Excellent location, clean facilties, staff (especially Kiera at the reception) was really friendly and helpful. Given the convenience of parking space right in front of the hotel and Wellington CBD "convenience" for parking, price/performance-wise (after checking hours and hours), I can easily say one of the best options!
The room and view of the city were great! Location of the hotel is close to the Wellington CBD and the infamous cable car station. The room service was speedy as well, taking about less than 30-minutes to bring your requests to the door. Overall look of the hotel is impressive.
It’s location was perfect for walking to and from all city destinations. Corner room had good views and was on a quiet street near a great New World supermarket and delicious fish & chips shop. The breakfast offering was generous and a hotel dinner was superb!
Super friendly staff. Clean tidy rooms with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Nice enough views. Super secure parking which is something alot of places dint offer in Wellington city. Central to the CBD which has all your shopping needs covered.
New hotels and perfect for a Wellington City Business Trip.
Staff went out of their way to ensure that my stay was awesome.
They had some lovely touches that were noticeable but not loudly presented.
A brand new hotel. Extremely clean. Great helpful staff. Really well-equipped room. Right by the cable car. Perfect central location. My new go-to place in Wellington and very reasonably priced. Loved it.
A great city based hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay at this motel the next occasion I am visiting Wellington. Extra bonus of the underground carpark. Highly recommended!
The hotel is tops for Wellington. Right in the middle of the city. Everything close by. The rooms were excellent (King Deluxe). Great beds and everything else, and so on and so forth.
The staff, the location, the hotel is really amazing, in city center. Definitely recommand the hotel while in Wellington, we would for sure choose to stay here again.
